150 Years of Burwood by Sydney Collage Society

To celebrate Burwood Municipality turning 150 in 2024, Council commissioned artists Kubi Vasak, Simon Welsh and Millie Bartlett from the Sydney Collage Society (SCS) to develop three artworks for our Burwood Banners program.

The artworks were developed from 800 supplied Council images of the Burwood community and area from our 150 year history. The image bank supplied to SCS comprised of archival photos from Council's local history collection and contemporary photos from previous Council events, festivals, parades and celebrations. Reflecting Burwood's past, present and future these artworks are designed to illicit a sense of fun and excitement for the 2024 celebrations. 

Along with the banner program the artworks will be used throughout majority of promotional materials for the 150 year celebrations in 2024.
