Volunteering

More and more people are getting involved in their communities as volunteers, offering their time and energy to improve the quality of life for themselves and others.

People volunteer for a variety of reasons and in many different ways depending on their interests, skills, age and availability.  Committing to volunteer for one hour a week can have a profound benefit on your wellbeing.

Burwood Council has many opportunities for people wishing to be involved in some form of community activity.  Volunteers provide a wide range of valuable services to the local community through social, environmental and cultural wellbeing.

Some of the areas in which Council enlists the assistance of volunteers include:

  • Arts
  • Children & Youth
  • Disability Services
  • Education
  • Environment / Conservation
  • Health
  • Multicultural
  • Recreation
  • Seniors
  • Services to the Community
  • Sport

These are just some, there are many more out there.

Volunteer opportunities are advertised on the Seekvolunteer via GoVolunteer website:
