How and where can you vote?
Voting locations
Voting is open from 8am to 6pm on Saturday 14 September 2024. Information on voting locations is available on the Electoral Commission website here: Where to vote.
Pre-poll voting
Burwood Park Community Centre, 2B Comer Street, Burwood, is pre-poll voting centre in Burwood and will open for early voting from Saturday 7 September 2024.
Postal voting
Applications for postal voting are now open. Applications can be lodged online or by downloading a form from the Electoral Commission's How do I vote? page.
Applications for postal voting close at 5pm on 9 September 2024. If you are voting by post, your vote must be received by the Electoral Commission by 6pm on 27 September 2024 for it to be counted.
No absent voting
There is no absentee voting for local government elections. Electors must vote a polling place in their council area. This applies to both pre-poll voting and voting on election day.
If you have moved, you can vote in your new council area by completing a declaration vote to update your address. Electors should tell an election official at the polling place that they need to update their enrolment so they can be directed to the appropriate table.
Telephone assisted voting
Telephone assisted voting is only available for electors who are blind or have low vision. Electors can apply and vote from Saturday 7 September. Applications for telephone assisted voting close at 6pm on Friday 13 September. If you are blind or have low vision and would like to apply for telephone assisted voting, call the NSW Electoral Commission on 1300 248 683.
See the telephone assisted voting page on the NSW Electoral Commission website for the dates and times during which an elector can apply for or vote using telephone assisted voting.
