Commercial advertising, or bill posters taped or fixed to telegraph poles, fences, hoardings or sides of buildings are both unsightly and illegal when placed on public property.
Sticking bill posters on public property can result in an on the spot fine ranging from $330 for individuals to $400 for businesses.
Posters put up by community members advertising garage sales, missing pets or local fetes are treated differently.
Report illegal bill posters to Council
You will need to provide:
- exact location
- date the posters were sighted
- photographic evidence.
