Enfield Aquatic Centre redevelopment render

Community input into the Enfield Aquatic Centre Redevelopment project is now open!

Council is planning an exciting redevelopment of the EAC to better meet the current and future needs of our growing community.

Until July 7, we’re seeking input into the concept design and future programming of the centre. This survey on our Participate Burwood platform is your opportunity to share your priorities, ideas and aspirations for the redevelopment.

Council will also be running several community consultation pop-up stalls at the EAC and around the Burwood area during June 2025. If you prefer to ask questions and provide your input in-person, please join us at one of the following stalls:

Project background

Council's mission is to create a state-of-the-art aquatic and leisure facility located within the active and busy recreational precinct of Enfield - an important place for the Burwood community which is already undergoing major transformation.

This redevelopment aims to improve the Enfield Aquatic Centre’s physical condition and functionality so that it’s accessible year round, and can offer more diverse programming. The project proposes the addition of a new 50m outdoor pool, café, and more to modernise and attract local membership, whilst importantly maintaining the Aquatic Centre’s heritage value and original charm.

The Burwood Library Pod will be a self-service kiosk open 24/7. The new technology, to be located in Enfield, will utilise automated library technology to increase community access to library services and resources. It will engage the community in education and leisure activities, providing parents with a pass time during children’s swimming lessons, but also to engage children in library services and books.
