Burwood Council is proposing to undertake new tree planting works at Wangal Park. This tree canopy enhancement project is funded as part of the 'Greening Our City' grant program that is proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with Local Government NSW.

The site comprises Wangal Park located at Royce Ave, Croydon. It is a large suburban park with a range of facilities and recreational opportunities.

The primary objectives of the project are to:

  • Increase overall tree canopy in Wangal Park
  • Install trees to provide shaded and cool passive recreation areas in Wangal Park
  • Support local fauna and increase biodiversity

Over 100 advanced native trees will be planted in Wangal Park. Plantings have been derived from the critically endangered Sydney Turpentine-Ironbark Forest Ecological Community.
