Burwood Council is proud to be part of the West Region Prevention of Abuse of Older People Collaborative, a group of organisations working together to raise awareness, provide resources, and promote support for older people experiencing abuse or disrespect.

To mark World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2025, the Collaborative is hosting a special roundtable event with local faith leaders. This important gathering will take place on Friday, 27 June 2025, from 9:30am to 12:00pm at the Canadian Exiles Room, Building A, Level 1, Concord Oval, Concord.

The event will focus on the critical issue of elder abuse and explore opportunities for prevention and community-led action. It’s a chance to come together, share ideas, and strengthen support networks to ensure older people in our communities are respected, safe, and valued.

We invite all interested community members to join this meaningful conversation as we work toward creating safer environments for everyone. Registration is essential, be sure to secure your spot today!
