New facilities opened at Burwood’s Martin Reserve

Residents can enjoy new facilities at Martin Reserve in Croydon Park after a $414,243 NSW Government upgrade delivered new play equipment, barbecues, shaded picnic tables, toilets and a water bubbler in a joint project with Burwood Council.
Martin Reserve, next to Croydon Park Public School, is a much-loved park for residents and the upgrade will make it more popular and better connect the reserve, local businesses and nearby schools.
The Crown Lands funded project has seen the installation of:
- An upgraded playground with new play equipment and rubber ‘soft fall’ for safe play
- Two new shaded picnic tables, four bench seats and a new water bubbler
- Exeloo automated public toilets, rubbish bins and public barbecue facilities
- New accessible pathways and wayfinding signs.
Minister for Lands and Property Steve Kamper said:
“Investments in Crown reserves improve the character and appeal of suburbs, provide recreational facilities and enhance natural areas.”
“This investment to improve Crown land for recreation is healthy for the community and maintains local habitat for native plants, birds and other wildlife.”
Member for Strathfield Jason Yat-sen Li said:
“This $414,243 upgrade has made it easier for families to have a barbecue or picnic, sit comfortably as they watch their children play or just relax in the sun.”
