The Home Library Service (HLS) is a FREE service that delivers library items straight to your door

Who is it for?

Residents of Burwood Council who are homebound for a variety of reasons. This includes people who are:

  • Unable to visit the library due to poor health or disability
  • Frail aged
  • Residents in a care facility
  • Full time carers
  • Residents who require temporary service after a serious injury, illness, or other significant circumstances

Residents from a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) community are welcome.

What can I borrow?

  • Books (including large print and community language books)
  • Audio-books
  • DVDs
  • Magazines
  • Music CDs
  • Electronic tablets (iPads, e-readers)

How often do I receive items?

Deliveries every THREE weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays

Service Provided

The Outreach Services Officer will call to find out the types of books and material you would like to borrow. They then choose items based on these preferences. Most of the resources of the library are available for borrowing.
