Draft Statewide Community Participation Plan

Have your Say on the NSW Government’s Proposed Changes to the Exhibition and Notification of Planning Matters

Burwood Council is encouraging the community to have their say on the NSW Government’s Draft Statewide Community Participation Plan, which proposes major changes to how planning matters are exhibited and notified across the state.

The draft plan aims to create a more consistent approach across NSW and strengthen community input earlier in the strategic planning process, but it could also reduce notification for some low-impact development applications that currently receive local notice.

Council will be preparing a submission to highlight local community expectations and potential implementation issues. Residents are also encouraged to review the proposal and make a submission before consultation closes on 3 June 2026.

All submissions must be made directly to the NSW Government through the submission portal below
