Census Form Filling Assistance at Burwood Library

Every five years, the Census counts every person and household in Australia. It asks questions about things like your age, country of birth, cultural background, work and education. Census data helps us understand how Australia is changing, and what we need now and in the future. It shapes the services people use every day, like health care, education, public transport and community services.

At this session, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) will explain why the Census is important for all levels of government, who is required to complete it, how to participate, and where to access support if you need assistance.

Burwood Council encourages all people living in the Burwood local government area, including international students, visitors, temporary and permanent residents and Australian citizens, to complete the Census. Census data is vital for our community as it provides an accurate picture of population growth and diversity, helps secure fair and appropriate funding, and supports informed planning for local services, facilities and infrastructure. We rely on this information to better understand our neighbourhoods and ensure we can meet the needs of our growing and diverse community.
