Burwood Council aims to keep materials in use and out of landfill as much as possible. As part of that strategy, we have partnered with ReSmart (formerly RecycleSmart), a service provider who collects hard-to-recycle materials, keeping them in use and out of landfill through reusing, repairing, donating, repurposing, or transforming them into energy.

ReSmart is a Council-subsidised service for Burwood residents. This means there is no cost to use the serviceCouncil pays for up to 500 bags each month, available on a first come, first served basis.

To use the service, you need to create an account with ReSmart. Once registered, ReSmart will collect accepted recyclable items from your doorstep. You can book and manage collections online via the ReSmart website or download the ReSmart mobile app.
