Welcome to

Burwood Council

Identified as a major centre by the NSW Government, Burwood is set to grow significantly in the next 25 years, taking advantage of the area’s strong local economy and excellent transport infrastructure.

Council is committed not only to maximising the area’s growth, but to ensuring that Burwood remains an exciting and vibrant place to live, work and visit.

We have already completed an extensive program of public works, including improvements to Burwood Park, the Avenue of Nations and surrounding street scapes.

Leave Trolleys in the Shops

No Abandoned Trolleys

There has been an alarming increase in the number of shopping trolleys being left abandoned in public areas across the Burwood Local Government Area (LGA) over recent months.

It is an offence to leave a trolley in a public place. Penalties exceed $200.

Please ensure that your shopping trolley is returned to the shopping centre when you are finished using it.

Nashos Memorial Service 2019

Remembering Fallen Heroes

Our National Servicemen, or 'Nashos' as we have affectionately come to know them, never wavered from their sense of duty. They never backed down or complained. Instead, they understood the importance of service and put their nation’s needs before their own; serving with a sense of courage, pride and honour.

This year our Nashos Memorial Service will be held on Sunday 2 June in Burwood Park.
