Burwood Council

Identified as a major centre by the NSW Government, Burwood is set to grow significantly in the next 25 years, taking advantage of the area’s strong local economy and excellent transport infrastructure.

Council is committed not only to maximising the area’s growth, but to ensuring that Burwood remains an exciting and vibrant place to live, work and visit.

We have already completed an extensive program of public works, including improvements to Burwood Park, the Avenue of Nations and surrounding street scapes.

In 2010, Burwood Council, residents and stakeholders developed Burwood2030 our Community Strategic Plan which provides a blueprint for the future of our area based on your vision.

The Sandakan Remembrance Service provides our community with time to reflect on one of the darkest moments in our nation’s history which took place in Borneo during World War II.
