Welcome to

Burwood Council

Identified as a major centre by the NSW Government, Burwood is set to grow significantly in the next 25 years, taking advantage of the area’s strong local economy and excellent transport infrastructure.

Council is committed not only to maximising the area’s growth, but to ensuring that Burwood remains an exciting and vibrant place to live, work and visit.

We have already completed an extensive program of public works, including improvements to Burwood Park, the Avenue of Nations and surrounding street scapes.

Australia Day

Citizen of the Year Awards

Everyone is invited to join the presentation of Citizen of the Year awards as we welcome our newest Australian citizens at the Citizenship Ceremony on Thursday 24 January 2019 at 11am at the Burwood Library and Community Hub.

The rewards aim to recognise outstanding achievements during the past year and/or contributions to the local community over a number of years.

Funding our Future

Over the past few years, Council has been listening to the community in order to identify and deliver services that are important to you. In order to continue delivering these services at our current level, Council will need to find additional funding.

The most sustainable option is to apply for a Special Rate Variation (SRV).
