A new Urban Park and Cultural Centre will be built in the heart of Burwood at the corner of Conder Street and Railway Parade, Burwood on the current Council carpark site in front of the Burwood Library.

"The Urban Park and Cultural Centre project is a once in a generation opportunity for our local community and will be a flagship piece of infrastructure for Burwood,” the Mayor of Burwood John Faker said.

“Not only will it ensure the needs and aspirations of our community are met, but it will also fortify the creation of a defined civic and cultural precinct within the Burwood Town Centre for generations to come.”

The new Urban Park and Cultural Centre will deliver:

  • A new urban park including a public plaza, water play features, sloping green lawn area with high-canopy tree plantings, landscaping and public art
  • A new multipurpose community and cultural centre, featuring spaces to support a broad range of community, cultural and recreational activities, including performance and rehearsal spaces, and
  • An underground public carpark.

Council is inviting the community to have their say on the project.
