Burwood Cares Releases New Community Packs

Burwood Council has expanded the Burwood Cares program with two new care packages released today.The program aims to directly engage with the community in a targeted response to the current Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.

Under the Burwood Cares program, Burwood Mayor Cr John Faker said Council’s community and library services team have developed two new care packages for vulnerable community members impacted by Covid-19.

“These packages have been developed in consultation with our community networks to target those most in need,” he said.

“They will play an important role in an effort to keep the community safe and connected in this challenging time.”

The new care packages available to local residents include:

  • A hygiene pack consisting of 4 rolls of toilet paper and 500ml hand sanitiser
  • A craft pack consisting of a brand new fiction or non-fiction book and children’s activities including mini scrapbook, stickers, a cardboard Easter hat and pencils. The Hygiene Pack will be distributed based on need while the Craft pack is available to Burwood residents who are socially isolating with children.
