Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony

On Friday 26 January 2024, Council will see 80 new citizens welcomed to Burwood, as well as the announcement of the 2024 local Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the Burwood community.

All members of our community are welcome to attend and join the celebration.

The event will start with a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country followed by a didgeridoo performance by Mathew Doyle and Tim Bishop.

The special ceremony will then see new citizens officially join the Australian family.

After the ceremony at approximately 10:45am, you can immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere and enjoy live music, cultural performances and an Australia Day free BBQ.

When
