NSW Treasury

New South Wales (NSW) Treasury leads the economic, jobs and investment conversation across NSW. From its position at the centre of government, Treasury drives the economic development strategy to guide the State’s growth for the benefit of the people who live, work and study in NSW.

Treasury work includes developing industry, supporting jobs growth, improving service delivery to the community and increasing living standards, to forge a brighter future in a prosperous and confident post-pandemic NSW economy.

 

NSW Health

NSW Health is the largest health care system in Australia, and one of the largest in the world. Each year, NSW Health cares for millions of people and oversees billions of dollars worth of investment in patient care, building, equipment, technology and research.

The purpose of NSW Health is to plan the provision of comprehensive, balanced and coordinated health services to promote, protect, develop, maintain and improve the health and wellbeing of the people of New South Wales. 

 

Department of Education

The NSW Department of Education is the largest provider of public education in Australia with responsibility for delivering high-quality public education to two-thirds of the NSW student population. 

Their public schools service the diverse range of communities across the state, enabling all children and young people to have access to quality education.

The NSW Department of Education supports the delivery of a skilled and employable workforce for NSW through post-school vocational education and training, as well as higher education.

Transport for NSW

Transport NSW leads the development of safe, integrated and efficient transport systems for the people of NSW. Their customers are at the centre of everything that they do, including transport planning, strategy, policy, procurement and other non-service delivery functions across all modes of transport - roads, rail, ferries, light rail and point to point.

 

Department of Planning and Environment

The Department of Planning and Environment brings together specialists in urban and regional planning, natural resources, industry, environment, heritage, Aboriginal and social housing, and Crown lands and water.

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is the principal revenue collection agency of the Australian Government.

Treasury

As a central policy agency, Treasury is expected to anticipate and analyse policy issues with a whole-of-economy perspective, understand government and stakeholder circumstances, and respond rapidly to changing events and directions.

Treasury provides sound economic analysis and authoritative policy advice on issues such as: the economy, budget, taxation, financial sector, foreign investment, structural policy, superannuation, small business, housing affordability and international economic policy.

Multicultural NSW

Multicultural NSW is the lead government agency for implementing policy and legislative framework to support multicultural principles in NSW, and actively maps ways to strengthen community resilience and safeguard social cohesion.

The agency has three key principles:

  1. Engage with all sections of society and break down barriers to participation
  2. Enable equitable access to services and programs
  3. Enrich social and economic capacity through cultural diversity as an asset of NSW.
