Public Notice of Draft Voluntary Planning Agreement and Explanatory Note – 84-88 Burwood Road, Burwood

The draft Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) provides for the developer to pay a monetary contribution to Council in lieu of a shortfall of four visitor parking spaces on site. The draft VPA was proposed under Development Application (DA) No. 47/2018, involving the construction of a mixed use development with a registered club at ground floor, 8 residential levels above consisting of 30 dwelling units and 4 levels of basement parking.

Council at its meeting on 30 October 2018 resolved to enter into the VPA subject to the approval of the DA. The DA was approved by the Burwood Local Planning Panel on 12 March 2019. The draft VPA has now been revised to reflect the DA approval, the updated monetary contribution amount for a shortfall of four visitor parking spaces in the approved design (not five spaces as proposed by the original design) and the current Power of Attorney for Council.

Local Strategic Planning Statement

A draft Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS) has been prepared for the Burwood local government area.

The draft LSPS sets out the 20-year vision for land use in the Burwood area and identifies priorities and actions for Council to make Burwood more liveable, productive and sustainable in the future.

It sets planning priorities about what will be needed, such as homes, jobs, parks, transport and services, and also sets short, medium and long-term actions to deliver these priorities.

The LSPS was on public exhibition from Tuesday 6 August to Monday 16 September 2019. Thank you to everyone who made a submission or provided feedback through other ways.

All submissions will be reviewed and a report will be prepared which will provide further information about the issues raised and Council’s response.

A range of strategic background studies are also being prepared which will inform the final version of the draft LSPS and contribute to the long-term vision for Burwood.
