Recycle your old mobile phone at Burwood Council. 

Simply bring in any old mobile phones and accessories and place them in the Mobile Muster Box located in Customer Services at Burwood Council.

MobileMuster is the mobile phone industry’s official product stewardship program.  Its mission is to keep old mobile phones, batteries, chargers and accessories out of landfill by recycling them in a safe, secure and ethical way.  

This free recycling service is a not for profit program, owned and funded by the majority of mobile handset manufacturers and all network carriers.  It aims to:

  • keep old mobile phones, batteries and accessories out of landfill,
  • recycle them to the highest environmental standards, and
  • maximize the percentage of materials recovered so they can be reused therefore substituting new raw materials
  • no mobiles or accessories are sold for reuse.
