Lodging Development Applications Made Easier Online

People lodging development applications for the Burwood Council area will do so online from 1 January 2020 as part of state government plans to make the process easier and more convenient.

People will take advantage of the NSW Planning Portal - planningportal.nsw.gov.au - which will be available 24/7 and guide users through the process.

Paper-based lodgement will not be accepted. Lodging online has many benefits. Users are not required to visit Council, and will save time and paper.

Users also gain a single port of call for their plans, as all communication occurs through the portal.

At Burwood, the change will be introduced after what is usually one of the busiest months for DA lodgement - December.

Mayor John Faker was confident residents would see the benefits.

"We want to take the hassle out of lodging a DA," he said.

"Lodging online will mean less paperwork and more time to consider your building project."

More information is available on the Development section of the Council website - burwood.nsw.gov.au.

There are 21 councils across the state which have introduced the service, and more will follow.
