Backyard Composting & Worm Farming Online Workshop

composting

Have you ever wanted to give composting or worm farming a go? Or maybe you already have and are keen to build on what you already know?

Food scraps and other organic wastes account for about half of the average household garbage bin. Composting and worm farming is a great way to significantly reduce your waste, while creating a free, organic fertiliser that can be used on your gardens or pot plants to improve their health and beauty.

Live in an apartment building? No problem! Worm farms take up very little space and can be kept on balconies provided they are sheltered from the elements.

This workshop caters for beginners, as well as those who currently have (or previously had) one of these systems and are looking to develop their expertise.

Come along and learn the basics of these important systems, through presentations and demonstrations.

Light refreshments will be available throughout the workshop and one lucky participant will take home a worm farm complete with worms, made from upcycled polystyrene boxes!

The workshop will be delivered by Council's waste education partners, EnviroCom Australia.

Please note: you must be a resident of the Burwood LGA to participate. Registrations are essential. For more information, contact: burwoodwasteprograms@envirocom.com.au
