Visiting the library safely

Covid payment update

After more than three months of closure, we are excited to share that Burwood Library will reopen to the public from 9.30am on Monday 18 October. We can't wait to welcome you back into the library!

Safety in the library
NSW Health has provided the conditions of entry for all indoor venues, including libraries. When visiting the library:

  • You must sign in using our COVID safe check in.
  • Mask wearing is mandatory except for children under 12. If you cannot wear a face mask because of a disability, physical or mental health illness or condition, you must carry either a medical certificate or letter signed by a registered health practitioner (such as a doctor) or a registered NDIS provider or a statutory declaration.

We can only allow one person per four square metres inside, which means there are capacity limits for the library.

We will be offering limited desk space, computer and photocopier facilities. Please support our staff by wearing a face mask, physically distancing and using the hand sanitiser available.

Opening hours
We will be open Monday-Saturday during the following hours:

Monday 9.30am–5.00pm
Tuesday 9.30am–8.00pm
Wednesday 9.30am–6.00pm
Thursday 9.30am–8.00pm
Friday 9.30am–5.00pm
Saturday 11.00am–4.00pm

Sunday will be a Click & Collect service only 12noon–4.00pm for contactless returns and borrowing.

Just to note, our Click & Collect service will remain available until we reopen on Monday 18 October. After this date, we will continue to offer Click & Collect for patrons who are not able to visit the library. The Home Library Service will also continue to be available.

Programs and events

Programs and events will continue to be hosted online. Our team is busy working to reinstate COVID safe programs and events and we will have more information in the coming weeks.
