Burwood Profile

In-depth information on the local community's profile

Woodstock Community Centre and Fitzroy Hall

Woodstock  is a magnificent Victorian building set amongst parklands in the Burwood CBD. Since 1979 Woodstock has been Burwood's main Community Centre, with both Burwood Council and many local community groups hosting various programs, events and activities for the local community. With the recent addition of Fitzroy Hall, the Community Centre is a busy, vibrant centre of community activity. Plans are underway to begin a renovation to this beautiful building to ensure that the facilities are upgraded for the benefit of the community. Some of the programs and activities have moved temporarily to other Burwood Community facilities such as George Street Centre, on the corner of George and Elsie Streets, Burwood Park Community Centre, within Burwood Park and at the Library and Community Hub at 2 Conder Street, Burwood.

Burwood Council Community Programs

Burwood Council offers subsidised programs at Woodstock and at our other community facilities. These programs are designed to foster health and wellbeing within the community. Regular activities include Yoga, Zumba, Seniors Exercise classes, Line Dancing and Art and Craft groups.  Why not try something NEW and 'have a go' at one of the many programs on offer. A range of exercise, creative and recreational programs are on offer each term. To be added to the mailing list and receive a copy of the brochures via email each term, please ring Burwood Council and provide your contact details.
