Volunteer Network

 

“Volunteering is an excellent way to provide meaning in your life and help give back to your life and help give back to your local community.”

Volunteer Network is a resource program with the aim of recruiting and referring volunteers to organisations within the Inner West area.

Volunteer Network provides a comprehensive volunteer recruitment, referral and support program to organisations which utilise volunteers in the day to day running of their programs. Volunteer Network provides support in terms of training, best practice, information, networking and communication.

The service is based in Burwood; however it operates on a sub-regional basis covering the Local Government Areas of Ashfield, Burwood, Canada Bay and Strathfield.

Volunteer Network is funded by NSW family and Community Services, NSW Ageing, Disability & Home Care and the Department of Social Services and is auspice by Burwood Council.

  • The Volunteer DVD will explores the changing roles of volunteers in effective service delivery. It also looks into the diversity of volunteer roles, their relationship with the service providers and best practice in management of volunteer networks.  The Volunteer DVD will be designed as an educational and promotional tool highlighting the range of opportunities available in Community Care Services.Please contact Volunteer Network on vncoordinator@burwood.nsw.gov.au to obtain a copy.
