Planning Proposal for Heritage Listing of Ely House

Council is publicly exhibiting a Planning Proposal to facilitate the heritage listing of the properties known as Ely House at 122-126 Burwood Road, Burwood under Schedule 5 of the Burwood Local Environmental Plan (BLEP) 2012.

The Planning Proposal and relevant accompanying documentation will be made available for public inspection from Tuesday 14 November 2017 to Wednesday 29 November 2017.

The documents will be available for public inspection at Council’s Administration Centre, Suite 1, Level 2, 1-17 Elsie Street Burwood, Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.45pm, and on Council’s website at the links below.

Written submissions may be directed to Burwood Council, PO Box 240, Burwood NSW 1805 and must be received by 5.00pm on Wednesday 29 November 2017.

The Minister has delegated the authority for the making of the Local Environmental Plan amendment to Council.

Public Notice of Draft Voluntary Planning Agreements (VPAs)

Draft VPA – 2A-8 Burwood Road Burwood

The draft VPA provides for the developer to pay a monetary contribution to Council in exchange for additional floor space, and to dedicate a strip of land for the widening of Esher Lane in exchange for further additional floor space. The draft VPA is proposed in conjunction with a modification application to modify Development Consent No. 205/2014. The modification involves an additional apartment on Level 8 and an additional Level 9 of 6 apartments.

Draft VPA – 14 Burwood Road Burwood

The draft VPA provides for the developer to pay a monetary contribution to Council in lieu of one deficient on-site parking space. The draft VPA is proposed in conjunction with Development Application No. 13/2016 for the construction of a boarding house.

Draft Amendment to the Burwood Development Control Plan

Council has prepared a draft amendment to the Burwood Development Control Plan (BDCP), which guides development across the Burwood Local Government Area.

The amendment relates to awning extensions and free-standing awnings, street numbering, parking requirements, boundary setbacks adjacent to heritage items, waste collection via rear lanes, extension of basement levels into road reserves, updates to reflect changes in legislation, as well as formatting and other minor changes.

The draft amendment will be on public exhibition from Tuesday 31 October 2017 to Tuesday 12 December 2017 at Council’s Administration Centre, Suite 1, Level 2, 1-17 Elsie Street, Burwood, Monday to Friday 8.30am and 4.45pm, and on Council’s website:

Presentation of Financial Reports as per Section 418 (3) of the Local Government Act.

In accordance with Section 418 (3) of the Local Government Act, 1993, Burwood Council advises that the Ordinary Council Meeting to be held on 28/11/2017 will include the presentation of the audited Financial Reports and the Auditors Reports for the financial year ending 30/6/2017.

Public Notice of Draft Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) - No. 14 Railway Parade, Burwood

The draft Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) and accompanying Explanatory Note have been prepared. The VPA provides for the developer of No. 14 Railway Parade, Burwood to pay Council a monetary contribution in exchange of additional development on the site. The VPA is submitted in conjunction with Development Application No. 32/2017 for a 19 storey mixed use development.
