Planning Proposal for Heritage Conservation of Additional Properties
Council is publicly exhibiting a Planning Proposal to amend the Burwood Local Environmental Plan (BLEP) 2012 to facilitate:
- The heritage listing of six additional properties;
- The inclusion of three properties within an existing heritage conservation area; and
- Updating of one existing heritage listing.
The Planning Proposal and relevant accompanying documentation will be made available for public inspection from Tuesday 21 February 2017 to Tuesday 21 March 2017. The documents will be available for public inspection at Council’s Administration Centre, Suite 1, Level 2, 1-17 Elsie Street Burwood, Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.45pm, and at the links below.
Written submissions may be directed to Burwood Council, PO Box 240, Burwood NSW 1805 and must be received by 5.00pm on Tuesday 21 March 2017. The Minister has delegated the authority for the making of the Local Environmental Plan amendment to Council.

Public Notice - Increasing
Monetary Contribution Rate for
Bonus Development in Burwood and Strathfield Town Centres
Following an independent review, the General Manager has approved the public notification of an increase in the monetary contribution rate for bonus development in the Burwood and Strathfield Town Centres from $1,100 per square metre additional gross floor area to $1,500, applicable to any development proposal involving bonus development received by Council on or after 30 January 2017.
This public notice is given in accordance with Sections 610F and 705 of the Local Government Act 1993, from
14 February 2017

. During this period, the notice is also on display at Council’s Customer Service Centre (Mon-Fri 8.30am-4.45pm).
Written submissions are invited and must be received by Council no later than 5.00pm on
14 March 2017
. Results of the public notification will be reported to Council. When adopted, Council’s Schedule of Fees and Charges will be updated accordingly.
Public Notice of Draft VPA - No. 4 Railway Parade, Burwood
A draft Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) and accompanying Explanatory Note have been prepared.
The VPA provides for the developer of No. 4 Railway Parade, Burwood to pay a monetary contribution for additional floor space on the site.
The VPA is proposed under the Development Application BD.2016.101, which involves the construction of a 19 storey development comprising of 5 levels of car parking and 14 levels of residential, containing 55 residential apartments at the rear portion of the property.
