Draft Car Share Policy

Council has drafted the draft Car Share Policy which has been prepared in accordance with the current RMS Guidelines for the implementation of On-street Car Share Parking. The Policy outlines the requirements Car Share providers must successfully demonstrate in order to be eligible for a dedicated Car Share bay. Council invites community members to inspect these documents and comment upon them.

The draft Car Share Policy is available for inspection from Monday, 19 June 2017 to Friday, 14 July 2017 at the following locations:

Written submissions are invited and must be received by Council no later than 5.00pm on Friday 14 July 2017.


Planning Proposal for 2-18A Cooper Street (excluding 2B) and 43A and 45 Wentworth Road, Strathfield

Council is publicly exhibiting a Planning Proposal to amend the Burwood Local Environmental Plan (BLEP) 2012 to facilitate:

  • Rezoning the subject site from R2 Low Density Residential to R1 General Residential;
  • Increasing the maximum building height to permit 20.5m at the western end of the site, with a gradual reduction in height to 14m and 11m at the eastern end of the site;
  • Permitting a maximum floor space ratio of 2.3:1 at the western end of the site, with a maximum of 1.5:1 at the eastern end of the site; and
  • Delisting the property at 18A Cooper Street Strathfield as a heritage item.

The Planning Proposal and supporting documentation will be on exhibition from Tuesday 6 June 2017 to Tuesday 4 July 2017 . The documents will be available for public inspection at Council’s Administration Centre, Suite 1, Level 2, 1- 17 Elsie Street Burwood, Monday to Friday 8.30am–4.45pm, and on Council’s website www.burwood.nsw.gov.au .

Public Notice of Draft VPA - No. 180-186 Burwood Road and 7-9 Burleigh Street, Burwood

A draft Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) and accompanying Explanatory Note have been prepared. The VPA provides for the developer at No. 180-186 Burwood Road and 7-9 Burleigh Street, Burwood to pay a monetary contribution for additional development on the subject site.

The draft VPA is proposed in conjunction with Development Application (DA) BD.2016.103 for the construction of a mixed use development comprising commercial, residential and serviced apartments over basement car parking on the site. The DA proposes an additional floor space ratio (FSR) of 10% over the maximum FSR permitted under the Burwood Local Environmental Plan 2012.
