Reed Reserve is a small park located at Fitzroy Street, Croydon. The park is within the Malvern Hill Heritage Conservation Area, and is close to Croydon Railway Station and shops. Reed Reserve is an Alcohol Prohibited Area between 6pm and 8am, 7 days a week.

  • In a judgement dated 13 November 2006 the Land & Environment Court of NSW approved DA 306/2005, which proposed a mixed commercial/residential development comprising 233 units in three residential towers extending from 15-18 storeys in height on a commercial podium of approximately 2,500m2 of  commercial/retail floor space. The applicant lodged a section 96 modification which increases the floor space by 4530m2 (18.7%) and makes substantial internal alterations and changes to the external appearance of the building. The applicant lodged an appeal to the Land & Environment Court of NSW relating to a “deemed refusal of the application. Council has engaged an independent town planning consultant who has assessed the Section 96 and has recommended that the modification should be refused as it is not substantially the same development as well as for a number of merit based issues...

Strathfield LGA, which is west of the Burwood LGA is  slightly bigger with a population of 31,983. Ashfield LGA, to the east of the Burwood LGA is bigger again with a population of 39,667. Canada Bay LGA, to the north, is more than  double the size of the Burwood LGA in terms of population, with a population of 65,743. The population of Burwood LGA has grown by 967 (3.1%) people since 2001, when therewere 29,960 people living in the Burwood LGA...
