Christmas is less than one week away and the curtain is now closing on what has been a very successful year for Council, with many new projects and initiatives delivered to our community including the opening of Wangal Park, Woodstock restorations and Burwood Park Pavilion. Recently, Council celebrated the festive season at our Carols in the Park event in Burwood Park.

Croydon and Croydon Park
The festive season is fast approaching and while most will be winding down, Council will continue to deliver its services and initiatives to the community. In particular, Council is on the final stretch at Wangal Park with a significant amount of turf currently being laid in the eastern section.
As a father of four young children, I

and activities for the many families

Children’s Week with a special
puppet show at the Fitzroy Centre.
Recently our community came together to celebrate our great diversity and welcome spring at the Burwood Festival. It was a fantastic day with many great activities and entertainment on offer for the whole family to enjoy.
Please join us in Burwood Park as our vibrant community comes together to celebrate spring with some good old fashioned rock n roll. The festival is the biggest family friendly event in the area and we have some exciting new additions to the program,along with the return of everyone's favourites including rides, animals, and the Classic Car Show and Shine.

I spend a lot of time as Mayor in the community listening to residents in order to understand what matters are most important to you. Over the past few weeks, I have held street meetings in Burwood and Croydon where I spoke with residents on a range of matters including infrastructure upgrades,local planning and exciting new projects.
Throughout my time as Mayor, I have placed a strong emphasis on ensuring that our local infrastructure is safe and accessible to all members of our community. Our extensive capital works program for the new financial year is now underway with upgrades to local roads, footpaths, kerbs and parks being undertaken.

with modern upgrades and facilities.
It is with great excitement that I announce the completion of stage one restoration works at the Woodstock Centre. The iconic community centre has been renovated inside and outside to restore the building to its original Victorian charm with modern facilities and upgrades to ensure community members can enjoy their time at the centre.
The school holidays have arrived and Council is providing a range of initiatives for children and families in our community to enjoy. The Library and Community Hub will play host to fun activities and workshops for children throughout the holiday period including a movie screening and arts and craft lessons.
