National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme

Electronic waste (e-waste) is growing three times faster than any other type of waste in Australia. This has prompted the Federal Government to set up the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme. The Scheme is funded and run by the television and computer industry and regulated by the Australian Government under the Product Stewardship Act 2011 and the Product Stewardship (Televisions and Computers) Regulations 2011.

Under the scheme, you can take your old televisions and computers from your home or small business and drop them at the following SITA facilities in the Sydney region:

  • Crozier Road, Belrose
  • 15 Muir Road, Chullora
  • Walgrove Road Eastern Creek
  • New Illawarra Road Lucas Heights
  • 145 Wicks Road, North Ryde
  • 29 Powers Road Seven Hills
  • 20 Davis Road, Wetherill Park

Residents and businesses can drop off up to 15 items including unwanted TVs and computer equipment free of charge.  TVs and computer equipment dropped off will be sent to recycling facilities where any re-useable materials such as metals and plastics can be extracted and processed for re-use.
