“Who We Are” explores our community’s population, ages of residents, the types of families, individual needs and culture. “What We Do” explores the regular activities we undertake as residents; such as education, employment and unpaid work. “Where We Live” explores the physical boundaries of the Burwood LGA. Our housing, income, facilities and transport is addressed in “How We Live”. (N.B. Percentages are rounded to the nearest whole).

How these statistics impact upon the community in terms of community sustainability, social cohesion, a functional economy, infrastructure and service provision is explored in Burwood Council’s Social Plan.

The statistics referred to here are based on Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) 2006 Census data. If you are interested in finding out more about your community you can go to the ABS website for more statistics and demographic information. Also, in each section you will find links to useful websites where you can explore the topic that interests you.
